Abortion - The Great Debate
By Connie Rose
A friend and I the other day was just on this particular topic. The right to choose. The woman’s right to choose to have an abortion or not. Not many people will like what I have to say on this subject. That is what makes a debate great, and that is what our great Country was founded on. To have our own opinions and free will.
I have known people who have had abortions. The effects on them afterward was emotionally difficult for them for years after. They feared not ever being able to have children again, going to hell, having children that would be born with defects when they did decide to have children. I believe if most women knew what actually happens to their little ones during an abortion they would think twice about it. With so many other options, such as adoption and open adoption, we do not have to kill these tiny human beings. For whatever reason they were meant to be on this earth. We can’t play God and decide their fate.
When you make a choice to be adult and have sexual relations, then you are making a choice to be mature enough to take on the consequences of that choice. My husband was adopted. He was born in 1967 to an unwed Mother. And although she wants no contact with him, he is proud to know that she chose to not abort him. The Mother who raised him, is his Mother. And he is grateful that his birth mother gave him the right to live.
Here are a few things that happen during an abortion.
In the first trimester the baby is aborted by using suction aspiration. This suction dismembers the body of the developing fetus tearing it from the placental wall sucking it into a bottle.
In the second trimester, and this is not a very pleasant one, is called “Salt Poisoning.” This procedure is done by allowing the baby to swallow the salt water that has been replaced by the amniotic fluid. This is a very painful procedure on the fetus because of the burning and deterioration of the baby’s skin. It usually takes the baby about an hour to die, and the mother must go through labor after the instillation and deliver a dead burned baby. Not only is this cruel, it is also devastating on the Mother.
There are many more procedures I could tell you about, but it would take quite awhile, so I am just letting you in on some of what to expect.
98% of women have reported of having pain during an abortion. They risk complications of bleeding, hemorrhage laceration of the cervix just to name a few.
We just remember, we are not the creator of this earth. Therefor, we do not have the right to choose the life or death of another human being.
I would like to share with you a little trivia. I do not know the author of this, but it has a multitude of meaning. So please, if you find yourself in a pregnancy and you feel you can’t support the baby, give it a chance, give someone else a chance who cant have children. Even in open adoptions you may still see your baby and get updates.
