The Gift of Goodbye
By Dianna Hobbs

Hello EEW Ladies! I want you to remember something very important. There will be relationships in your life that will abruptly come to an end. You won’t be expecting it. You won’t necessarily see it coming. But, just one day… out of the blue… that person fades off the scene.

You may even be close to them. They may be a business partner or a relative. But, inevitably, that time will come in your life, and when it does, don’t fret. This is where the “gift of goodbye” comes in. I call it a gift because, often, it’s a blessing in disguise.

There are some people you don’t need in your life. They simply hinder you. They impede your progress. They severely limit your ability to soar. Unfortunately, you can’t see it until they’re gone. So, sometimes, God allows relationships to last for a short season. They were never intended to be permanent.

How then, do you move on? That’s easy. You move on. You refuse to remain stuck in the past. Don’t take it personally. Don’t blame yourself. Don’t waste your time, trying to figure out how you could’ve done things differently. Because if it was meant to be, that individual would be in your life. And since they have chosen to leave, accept their gift of goodbye, and let them go.

Now, I’m not saying that it won’t hurt, because it will. You may cry. You may feel betrayed and wounded. But that’s alright. You will heal. You will recover. You will bounce back. You are stronger than that. You are resilient. You can handle whatever comes your way.

Even though you have to let them go, never let go of your joy. After all, if they can’t see your worth and value, you don’t need them. The best thing to do is remember, the Lord is on your side and He’s the only one who will never leave nor forsake you.

So, put a smile on your face and know that your best days are ahead of you.

Until next time… may you be empowered to prosper!
