When we want to lose weight quickly we often start following a tough diet. These diets are hard to adhere to and we often have to quit before we have lost any actual weight. Those diets show a great theoretical weight loss, but since we are humans and not robots we can’t just follow a diet where we are supposed to eat less than 1,000 calories per day.

About a year ago a new kind of diet was introduced, the calorie shifting diet. In this diet you don’t have to count every calorie you eat and, in fact, you eat more in this diet than you do today. The diet doesn’t exclude any type of foods but you shouldn’t eat fast food. A major part of this diet is that you shouldn’t eat processed foods. It is better to buy fresh foods and cook them yourself. This ensures that you get a nutritious diet.

This diet is based on shifting calories which means that you eat one type of calories at a certain time and then you change type of calorie. This will make you lose weight since your metabolism will go nuts and try to produce as much energy as possible. It takes the energy from your fat cells because that is where our energy reserves are.

With this diet it is likely that you will lose between 6-9 pounds every 11 days. The diet is built on cycles. You diet for 11 days and then you get 3 bonus days where you are allowed to eat whatever your heart (or stomach) desires. The 3 bonus days are of great importance and this is what makes people stick to the diet.

If you have to lose 15 pounds, you keep on dieting until you reach your ideal weight but don’t forget to use your bonus days wisely.

Personally, I have lost about 40 pounds with this diet and after reading about it in forums and so on, I understand that this diet works great for most people. I think I have read one negative statement about it and that really speaks for itself!
