Yeast infection, otherwise known as Candidiasis, is a fungal infection of the Candida species (such as yeast). Yeast infection can range from a harmless superficial condition to a potentially life-threatening disease.
The main cause of yeast infection is an abnormal increase in the number of yeast in our body, which may be due to many reasons.
Firstly, women are exceptionally susceptible with recurring yeast infections. This is partly because the female’s vagina provides a perfect breeding condition for yeast to grow - warm, moist and dark. Pregnancy, the use of oral contraceptives and hormones are known to stimulate the growth of yeast in the vaginal area.
The use of certain antibiotics is also known reason for yeast infection. Antibiotics kill the bacteria which would otherwise help maintain yeast at safe levels, thus allowing the fungus to overgrow.
A weakened or undeveloped immune system may predispose individuals to yeast infection too. Diseases or conditions such as HIV/AIDS, cancer treatments, steroids, stress and nutrient deficiency are able to greatly weaken the immune system, thus making individuals prone to yeast infection.
Some people tried to cure yeast infection by using medicines, but this may not be able to completely cure them. This is because, yeast that survives the effect of the medicine will be more resistant to that medicine in the future, and it will come to a point where it gets very difficult to treat the condition.
If you have tried all the medicines and creams, but none works for you, you may want to try an alternative method - the natural cure. It is proven to work and with no side effect.
