Vaginal hysterectomy, as mentioned above, is when this surgery is performed through the vagina. The surgeon will make a circular incision around your cervix and you will not have any type of external scarring. The downside is that vaginal hysterectomy does not give the surgeon as much room to work. This method cannot always be used, depending on your condition.
